    Hi there,

Is there any news on a native skydrive app that is accessible through file manager. (see screenshot)

I have sideloaded the skydrive app and it's fantastic however, editing and saving will be much easier through a native app like drop box.

    Many thanks

I just downloaded the playcloud and it is basically what I was looking for thanks to whoever suggested it. Will use this until the native skydrive app comes to blackberry 10.

We need native apps for sky drive and Google drive. I am aware of the alternatives. I still want native apps.

Then you should sideload the SkyDrive Android app.

Playcloud is great, it's too bad it can't integrate into the native file manager however. I thought the beauty of a mobile computing platform was that devs could do more than with "regular" phone OS's...

Files & Folders supports SkyDrive, Google Drive, Box, Dropbox, SugarSync. Take the free trial version for a spin:

I don't know if BlackBerry is doing this in 10.2 or not but they really need to open up the API for allowing integration with the File Manager for individual tabs. That would be a fantastic option I feel as you could have multiple cloud services there in a way that hasn't been done in any other OS before.

Here's how to access your Google Drive:

    • start Files & Folders
    • tap the Goto button
    • tap Google
    • if you have not yet granted F&F access to your Google Drive:
      • a browser appears with the Google login screen. Log in with your Gmail and password
      • a screen appears asking you whether you wish to grant F&F access to your files. Use pinch & zoom, tap the blue button to grant access.
      • you are returned to the Files & Folders app

    • the Google Drive root is displayed containing "My Drive" and "Shared with me". The "My Drive" folder is your own Google Drive, "Shared with me" contains folders that other users have shared with you.

    Hope this helps!

Available on 10.1 is the ability to access folders on Windows and Mac computers. On these forums it is referred to as remote file access. These shared folders are available in the native file manager and Docs To Go. Unfortunately media files on the shares are not directly available in the MPV apps.

On your computer you should be able to share your cloud drive folders, like Dropbox (for example) in Link. That would make files stored in the cloud directly available on your BB10 in File Manager and Docs To Go.

I just tested accessing Dropbox from File Manager on my Z10. It works great.

Sorry, I mean I was able to manage my Dropbox files using Remote File Access rather than using the native Dropbox app.

Good luck getting gdrive and skydrive native OEM apps

I'm pretty sure Google and MS 's official stance is that bb10 doesn't exist

Pulling this up again - any update? Given that it is easy to sync your Outlook to BB10 - I can't imagine that it would be hard for BB to enable Skydrive Access

Here is the official response (which really isn't any response) from Microsoft:

There is also the link on where to make the request. Perhaps if enough of us submit the request Microsoft will pay attention. I filed my request yesterday. :-)

Interestingly I tried a while ago to upload a large video to skydrive via the Z10 browser and the upload failed each time. Doing so through a usb connection worked fine. I downloaded the free trial of Files and Folders but it didn't seem to work for me. I'd love to see some kind of native solution.

Playcloud is a nice app that can do Google drive, sky drive, sugar sync and many others so why not try Playcloud it's on BlackBerry World and has a free trial version.
