To anyone running 10.1 on either Z10/Q10/Dev C, is the settings app still really slow? I know it's been done with Air as is the phone app but any ideas of when they might be done using cascades or c++?

Does yours seem slow to open it or something? I've not got 10.1 yet, but hopefully someone else comes along that can assist...

On 100-3 opening is very fast. Just looked a moment ago to confirm. Seems perfect.

Sometimes it will open up straight away, however most of the time there is a few seconds of delay when opening.

I think the OP is talking about the bad framerate while scrolling in the settings page. It stutters and yes while it is a minor thing it makes the system somewhat inconsistent in its behaviour.

edit. maybe he meant it was slow. I have not really noticed this myself yet though. On my second day with the phone. What I noticed is what I said above. The scrolling in the settings page is not as smooth as in the rest of the system. Much more choppy.

Thanks dude. I do mean the frame rate whilst scrolling in the app. I shouldve made that a lot clearer.

Yeah, this was a very odd decision from BB. I have no idea why they haven't built the settings app using Cascades. It would take me a day or two to build something similar provided I have access to the right APIs.

The settings menu is cached. If you've opened it before within some timeframe it loads quicker.

This is what I figured; it is fast if you've probably opened up it. But still not really fast

I have a Dev Alpha C running the latest 10.1 retail OS and can state that the settings app launches fast and scrolls and moves between the different levels and options panes very quickly too.

Running the latest leak and the settings are still very choppy. Same behavior as on earlier firmware.

Wonder why they did it this way. Hmm.
