I bought some NFC tags for the purpose of setting up a tag some friends could connect to my wifi. Works fine with the two Z30s in the house however upon testing with a friends HTC one the NFC tags was recognized but the encoded data was specifically for the Z30/BB10 phones. Is there a generic way to code these tags to work with all NFC devices without having to have users install 3rd party apps to connect?

I thought I read about NFC having a protocol or setup for this. Is this an android specific issue?

Just switched from Z10 to Z30 and my NFC tags didn't work. Sorry not much help. just sharing an observation.

Not sure about the encoding though. The only tags I've set up were for my (then) Z10. A friend with an HTC One was unable to use them. It seems to me that tags set up for a specific purpose should only be usable by the device for which they had been programmed. I hadn't thought otherwise until your question.

Let's see if anyone else has some different input.
