Hey my business moved to a area where I have very bad or no signal at all.

Id like to use a NFC Tag for when I start my work in the morning to automatically set call forwarding to my landline.

    Ideas? Possible? 3rd party Apps?

    Hi and welcome to CrackBerry!
I used to have a third party app to set up NFC tags on OS7. But now with BB10, there are some easy NFC tags set up in the OS itself.

I;m not sure how you would do what you are asking.
I think this is the app I used to use....NFCShortcuts - BlackBerry World

Hey Jaydee, thank you for your answer.

I use the NFC SmartTag app. and it is very good. The only thing Iam missing is the little option to set/delete call forwarding.

Each carrier has a special number pattern to dial for which to setup call forwarding. Something like *21*(number)#

Find out what that number is that you need to dial. Then use the bb10 smart tags app with the Phone setting to program an nfc tag with that number. Tap the tag to forward calls. Then create a tag to unforward calls.

    Hope this helps.

For my carrier it is this:
Dial *21*, followed by the 10-digit number you want your calls forwarded to, then #.

    #21# will disable it.

I might try this out. The ideal would probably be a geofence - automatically on when in a certain range, automatically off when leave. What I imagine being a challenge with NFC is that I would need two different tags, one to turn on and one to turn off. The one to turn on wouldn't be a practical problem - I could just set that beside the charger. The one to turn off, though, would still have to be a conscious tap every time. That's definitely easier than turning it on and off manually each time, but still less than ideal. I'm probably going to keep hoping for a Call Forwarding API so somebody can make a geofencing app that does it for me.

Any news on a call forward API...

I'd like to do the samething but when BB connects to a specific WiFi AP (using a known MAC address)

    Thank you very much
