How do I declare which of my accounts (EAS, work Gmail, Yahoo) new contacts I create go into. Because I usually keep all my contacts backed up in my EAS, and now I notice new ones are being created in my work Gmail.

I went into Set Defaults and found only the options for Email and Calendar, not Contacts.

    Thanks.

There's no option for default unfortunately.. in 10.2 if you want to specify which list a contact is created in you need to visit that list in the contacts app and select new contact from there.. if you are adding from an email or similar, you might be out of luck. In 10.2.1 however, the option to specify which list will be present when adding the contact.

Hit search and type "default", the option to set default accounts will pop up.

There is no default contact list as off now though. From what I've see, if you set up gmail as your main email and have your contacts sync from there, all new contacts created will also be sync'ed. That's as far as I can go on this.

    Just unbelievable.

So if I add a contact from the main list of contacts, which list does it go in?

They did address the issue in 10.2.1, so give them a little credit. :-)

It goes to all of them at the moment. In 10.2.1 you can select the account when adding a new contact.

    All of them? That's absurd.

In your picture, i see SIM and Local. Does it allow you to chose a specific account?

Contacts are a complete ****up on BB10.

Do your self a favor, grab a doodle stick, and paper, write the important stuff down.

How a premium phone (as such as this is supposed to be) can completely **** up contacts is an embarrassment, and should be repaired ASAP.

    IMHO

Yes, if you have 2 Exchange accounts (Outlook and company email for example), the new contact will be added to both. In 10.2.1 you can select the account by tapping on that button.

Here are your options for each and every new contact. There is NO default choice as of 10.2.1.1925. You must pick the one or more that you want each time you add another contact.

I am running 10.3.1.364, and this is still an issue. There should be an option to specify the default contacts list, heck, Android (at least for the last 3 years), Windows Phone 8, and iOS all have this. Right now I am having issues because of this. BB needs to fix this as this is a serious bug/ommision, after all, what good is a phone if your contacts are all messed up.

YES, you can pick one or any combination of accounts to add a contact to. Try it yourself and see.

So I just installed the newest (and quite amazing progress I must add...) CAMCARD app (biz card scanner++) on my PASSPORT running 10.3.1 ,from the Amazon Appstore. When I select to save the contact information from the OCR of any given biz card, it pops up a menu for me to select either "contacts" or my Skype account of all things?! I of course choose Contacts. Here's the part I can't figure out... where the heck does it save the info??? I have various lists (2 Exchange Accts, Local Contacts, SIM Card, BlackBerry Link, BBM, Facebook, Twitter and Linkedon), of which I can't tell anywhere on the actual contact what list it has been added to?? I have gone through the settings, only switching on ONE list/acct at a time and searching for the specific contact that was added, and it does not appear on any individual list?? Only when I select 'All', does the contact come up on my search... where the heck does the Android engine default to when it saves or exports the contacts from the various Android apps? It this case, the usual BlackBerry Contact add/edit screen does not come up, it just miraculously appears in the contacts, but only when I select 'All Contacts' on the left pane for selecting what lists you want to show. And once again, keep in mind that I already toggled them off/on from the settings screen as well. Where the heck is the Android engine saving these contacts??

I tried this out just to see. Pretty cool app. Your right if you hit the "links" button it's just there with no account listed.

You can however hit "copy to" from the menu when viewing the contact and then select the account you want.
