It seems like every since I upgraded to 10.3.2.x, it takes atleast 24+ hours to wipe and reset my phone. Is this a known issue, or is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Are you wiping you SD Card? Depending on the size that could add a lot of time to the process.

But not the last time I wiped my Z10 with 16GB I think it took maybe 1-1/2hrs.... but I've seen many who have had it take two or three times as long.

Many have had issue with longer wipe times... some that just never ended.

Reloading the OS might be a better option, and then if you really want to wipe it, try again as I don't think loading an OS is going to guarantee that all the data is overwritten (if you really need that).

Either get an Autoloader use LINK to reload the software.

Oh, I wasnt wiping the SD card just internal storage. This issue seems to be new (10.3.2.x) as it did not do this before. I wonder if there is a fix coming.

Before do the wipe, doing manually delete files, photos and apps. This method saving time do the auto security wipe.

No, I didnt manually go through and delete anything. I am surprised that no one else is really upset over the wipe functionality post 10.3.2 update. BTW: I am still waiting for the phone to wipe!!! I have experienced this on two different leaps, so I am somewhat confident it isnt a hardware issue with either phone.

"Ever since" you upgraded to 10.3.2.X? Gosh, how much do you do this? And why?

The BB secure wipe is that. Like wiping on a PC. Takes time for a proper wipe. Not just deleting the directory structure.

yea i would agree. I had no issues with the phone prior to the wipe. I wonder if my extensive android app collection has anything to do with it. That is the common factor in both phones that i have tried to wipe and both took a very long time.

I started a security wipe on Jul 10. It progressed through almost 48 hours to get to 99% (had to put the Z30 SIM into my old Z10). Once at 99%, it remained for another 24 hours. At that point, I gave up and held the power button down until my Z30 restarted. The wipe started over, but was done in about 40 minutes.

This was after a destructive upgrade to 10.3.2.2339. Despite doing a full backup the evening prior to the initial wipe, I lost all my folders and most of my apps despite restoring. I had a lot of folder building, re-installing, and pw setting to do.

Today, Jul 15, I finally have my phone configured the way I like it.

Thanks for replying and validating the very long times. I am now at 99% and at this point its just a counter to see how long this actually takes. Wonder if I should just return it to amazon and wait for the slider to come out

No, just hold down the power button to restart the device. The wipe will restart but shouldn't take long to complete.

I wiped a Leap last night. It didn't take longer than 45 mins. Mind you it was very empty.

    It was on 10.3.2

Why would you return it to Amazon if MPG Vancouver had the same issue and said it could be solved with a reboot??
