Hi,

I have a couple of questions i need to confirm as I wasn't able to locate the resolution/confirmation in the threads;

1. I recently updated to 2072 and everything went well, its just that I noticed that the blackberry logo beside the signal strength bar has disappeared but my data is still. I have a STL100-1 in India on Airtel (non-BES), called up the carrier guys but they do not seem to understand if any thing has changed in the service that may have caused this, I just hope it is nothing i should be worried about, I have my emails configured thus worried if the data is no longer secure. Any one of you noticed this or have any knowledge of this "non-issue" ?

2. Any one aware of any app that can lock the screen without using the sleep button, which was native to pre-10 OSs. This is something I would really wish is part of the official 10.3.1. release !!

I don't know why the bb symbol would disappear but your email doesn't go thru that anyway, just BBM and a couple other things. Don't know about the other either. A different radio file may help your symbol issue.

For question number 2, you can just set 10 seconds for screen to sleep. No need to click sleep button

1. Open Settings > About, Select the Network category and tap the overflow at the bottom. Last but not least, select "Register BlackBerry". Done.

2. The easiest way is to use a pouch or a holster with a magnet. You can then programmed the behaviour of your phone when you slide in or out your phone. Check :
- Settings > Security and Privacy > Device Password for :

Im using airtel too and it dont lack BlackBerry sign on top near signal bar.


Yes it does lack that sign when I switch to edge/gsm

Did you follow the steps in my post earlier while connected to your Mobile network ? If BlackBerry cannot register, it means that your carrier blocked them.
