Has anyone come across a brightness dimmer App that works on BB10??

I've tried numerous android apps but as soon as you minimise the app the brightness goes back to normal.

The minimum brightness especially at night is still to bright for me when reading and is straining my eyes causing nausea

    Anyone know any working apps?
    Thanks

I'm not sure if this is the reason but BB10 has a built-in auto brightness feature. I don't think it can be disabled. This is why once the Android app is closed your brightness changes.

I don't know if this can be defeated.

I don't think one exists. I use twilight (android app), but as you said, it only impacts other Android apps. Doesn't effect any of the main bb screens.

It should allow the screen to go darker in full darkness.

Someone needs to develop one for BlackBerry App World. Surprised no one has yet, helps a lot when in bed

Agreed. I've shared the same opinion for years. Not sure why they don't build it right in. At the very least, providing a range to 0 would do the job. At best, having a night mode which doesn't use blues or similar. Watch the nature of things on light, pretty interesting. Pretty sure a crazy number of people now use an electronic device in their nightly sleep routines.

There is an auto brightness sensor on all BB10 phones that automatically adjusts the maximum brightness based on the lighting conditions. The Brightness slider can only control values based in that.

So the maximum brightness under one particular lighting condition will be different than the max under another.

Read the thread from the beginning please. If you still stand by your reply as a reasonable response within this thread, I guess we can take it from there.

I just went to a local party goods store and bought a sheet of dark cellophane for a buck, cut a section the size of my screen. Place it beside my bed on the night stand and just place it over the screen when I need less light. Works super..
