I was promoted to update runtime via BlackBerry World now I can't use Skype or any other android apps. The runtime version is the upto date version. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Have you rebooted?

After a reboot, wait for a few minutes before you start Skype or any other android app

Are you running 10.2.1? I loaded the runtime from BB World onto my Z10 STL100-3 running 10.2.1 and it messed everything up, couldn't open any android apps (would just display a black screen), skype, etc. Had to reload the OS.

If your Android Runtimeis messed up, you don't have to reload the whole OS and go through settings and app isntalation again, you can just sideload a different version of the Runtime from various leak threads on CB forums. The steps are the same as if you wanted to sideload any regular .bar app.

Nope just plain old 10.2. All sorted now, got fed up so just did a wipe and OS reinstall, now working fine

I would start by deleting the Runtime from BlackBerry World and then try out Skype and your other Android apps to see if they work without the Runtime. If they don't, reboot and see if they still don't work.

After this reinstall the Runtime from BlackBerry World and reboot the device immediately after installing is finished. Leave the device for a moment (a couple of minutes) after rebooting to let the OS initialise properly.

Now try your Android apps. They should work like a charm. This does not apply to sideloaded apps.
