    There were some layoffs at BlackBerry, but as far as I know Chen was not among them.

    It is ture it's been "reported" that many of the layoff were in the hardware division or division that supported BB10 (Florida). But phasing out BB10 is not the same as ending all hardware. We will need to see PRIV sales and give it time, and even then I don't expect some big announcement.

    No, that's not what happened. I heard that Tim Cook and John Chen fell in love and hired a plane together in San Fransisco and they haven't been seen since then.
