Question for you Tech Heads about LTE in our BB 10 OS Devices
I know that LTE stands for Long Term Evolution and that it's "true" 4G. My question is simple. Do the new BlackBerry 10 OS phones have a separate LTE radio, or do they leverage on one radio for all of the GSM/GPRS/HSPA+ frequencies as well as LTE. My understanding is that since LTE is an evolution of GSM and the major difference is in the data link (vs. PHY) layer that one radio might be able to do it all.
Edit: never mind. I found the answer in the teardown found at this link: http://crackberry.com/techinsights-b...key-components
It uses a single radio chipset: •Qualcomm RTR8600 - GSM / CDMA / W-CDMA / LTE RxD Transceiver + GPSLast edited by webmeister; 02-14-2013 at 09:30 AM. Reason: Forgot that Google is my friend
