Before I upgraded when i used the search icon at the bottom of the screen I would have Google results as one of my "extended" options. Now it is not.one of the choices. How can I search the Internet using the search icon bottom center of the screen. Thank you.

SO you are saying that Google in snot a choice when you type in a search term using the magnifying glass?

Hey guys, another question regarding 10.2 AT&T, just installed this update (only took half a day!!!) but it worked. However, my phone is noticeable slower then it was before loading apps and loading menus etc. I have very little photos and videos on the phone as wiped it clean about a month ago. Is this normal? Is this new upgrade 650 meg was it, so demanding that i significantly slows the phone down? so disappointed waiting for things to load.. Only blackberry…..

Mine seems to be a lot slower as well, when I click a facebook notification in the hub waiting for facebook to open is excruciatingly slow now.

Have any of you performed a hard reset by holding down both volume up/down keys for >10 seconds? If not, give that a try.

exactly the same for me and whats app even worse. also just opening emails or going to the text message menu is noticeable slower….. so annoying. Things should be working BETTER with upgrades, not worse… I do like the new copy and paste features etc, but scarfing speed is a big annoyance……

So I typed the word "cabbage" in the search area and this is what came up. I would try resetting the device as well as a search engine reset and see where that takes me.

Try turning parental controls on and then off again.

Not sure why... but that did the trick for some of us on other carriers.

Thanks everyone, I did a hard reset and the parental controls toggle and the search engines are back in the extended options for search. My problem is solved!

gonna try to go back and restore to a few weeks ago when i had the previous firmware, over this new update. killed my phone. sometimes i wonder if BB purposely add in some stalling feature on the new upgrade so you will consider buying a newer bb…. so annoyed and disappointed ….

Have added "Google" to search options. Put Google in "search" then tap 3 dots below rt screen. Then choose to "edit/
add as a bookmark." Google, Bing (newly added) now appear as options for a "Search."

Since my update a few days ago, the Z10 is incredibly SLOW; it'll take 5 seconds just to view a text message or open a simple email. It'll take just as long, if not longer, to open any app whatsoever, even BBM, calendar, etc...
Also, my battery lasts less than 2 hours since the update.
And I can only see a few of my BBM contacts in the contacts app.
My phone worked fine before the update. As much as I've waited and waited for this update, I'm really regretting it now.

The speeds on mine are slower as well, but not to the extent that your mentioning. And the battery life isn't noticeably worse. Might be something that you have running?

I just don't know anymore. I tried everything. I just really dislike how this update changed certain things for me :-(



Oh and another thing, sometimes I click "share" on a picture or as a matter of fact, when I click on anything that would require an app to open, the phone will dim for a second as if it would open it, only to stay on the original screen and nothing would happen.... I had to to try at least 5 times before being able to attach this pic...

Yep, my device over the last 3o hours has done a complete nosedive for me. This didn't start with the upgrade to 10.2 as I have had that for a while now, but something happened and you can see where the battery drain all of a sudden becomes a much steeper dive, so annoyed.

The restart/Parental Controls toggle will fix a problem, should that be your issue. However, you can select what search options are displayed by going to Settings>Search>Extended and/or Categories.

Thanks, I think when I installed 10.2 I switched this to "on" I just turned it off and will let you know if that is the fix.

On a side note the phone has gotten so overwhelmed that I could not open any of my BBM messages this morning. I just get the screen dipping in brightness for a few seconds and then brightens back up without ever leaving the hub.

The AT&T was a big software update. Most likely you have to set Google as the sear engine.
