Simple poll: of course "can't run Android apps" includes Skype and other apps that are Android ports available from BlackBerry World. Basically, no Android VM on BlackBerry any more: just BB10 Native and Webworks apps.

Post your coping strategies, too: there are key apps that people DO need on Android, and if you're willing to forego Android on BB10, then you have to do something, even if that's just "not use that app any more" or "carry a second device" etc.

I'd probably carry my iPhone with me and have it tethered to my BB10 device via Bluetooth so I can run apps like Skype... which I use so infrequently on BB10 (because it's sooooooo baaaaaad) but do need to use once in a while. Having to keep an iPhone charged isn't a problem if it's in "airplane mode" most of the time. When I leave my iPhone sitting around with only WiFi enabled, it keeps a charge for quite some time in disuse.

I'm not willing to stick with BB10 even with the current level of app support, android or otherwise. The over promising never paid off. Simple as that.

no Problem at all to stay on BlackBerry!! The apps I use are ok for me. Then in case "BlackBerry stop working"", I will migrate to Windows phone 10. But I don't see this option coming soon...

Not a problem but I would assume that if such was the case then there would have to be a push for more apps whether BlackBerry made them like the Facebook app.

I just need Waze and Linxo so I would have to have another device just for these apps. But I will keep my Passport as main device for sure.

Android apps, while 'nice,' are in no way critical to my daily use. In most cases there is a web alternative (for me at least.) Yes, I do have some Android apps loaded on my device, but they are not deal-breakers (again, for me. I'm aware that there are others for whom the apps are essential.)

I prefer the Hub, security, battery, performance and gestures and will stick with my Passport until it dies, or a new device (Venice perhaps?) will meet my needs.

I don't have many android apps, but there are a few I have to have. So, if the runtime has to be removed from BB10 to get Google services on the rumored android OS, then I might have to go all out android.

But I'd think about it real hard first.

    Stop using smartphones.

I bought a Galaxy Tab Pro a few weeks ago to run a handful of work related apps. Otherwise I am staging a strategic retreat to my Motorola Krazr and my Linux laptop for personal use.

I simply don't use android/iOS for personal information.

BB10 without Android apps is dead in the water. I bought the PlayBook on the promise that it would eventually run Android and BBOS apps (later never happened).

I regularly use: Kobo, Audible, OneNote, Genius Scan +, PrintHand, Photo Transfer, CBC News, National Post (but it's a crappy app), Zite, FlipBoard, and several astronomy apps and a few games.

The real question is: could I go without BB10? I'd truly hate to go without it, but I could cope. All I have to think about is my laptop which can do everything my Z30 does, except I can't carry it in my pocket or use cell/sms (except later through Blend).

Invested in PlayBook only to have it abandoned. Looks like BB10 is about to end in the same manner.

All this has happened before and will happen again.
