I myself find no real use for them and actually just close everything to save battery. Would like to get user input to see where everyone else is on this. Thanx for participating.

Don't use them. Every now and then l'll leave something open but only if I'm going right back to it. I'm always battery conscious.

I usually close my active frames after I'm done using them. But I do find them very useful when using multiple apps or when I want to go back to an app in the future

I might leave one or two but in general I prefer to close them. I will appreciate if it is an option to automatically close all active frames after closing the applications.

    I keep open:

    BBM
    Calendar
    Browser
    Reminder

    All because of one reason:

They need annoyingly too long to load up when you need them quickly. Especially the Calendar.

From active frames it's a but quicker. Still a bit slow though.

All on official 10.2.2 on Z30. I hope 10.3.1 will be quicker in loading apps. Especially native apps.

Yes I use them especially for a few core apps. I don't find I use more than four normally. Z30STA100-5/10.3.1.1154 and opening a native app is better than 10.2 especially the calendar. However it is even faster from an active frame. I must admit in my Z10 days I closed them to save battery power. Now I make it through a whole day with no issues. I do however really want one feature that was in the BlackBerry PlayBook OS, the swipe up on the active frame to close it. The little x can be missed too easily and opens the active frame instead of closing it. I guess the other alternative is a bigger X but I really like swiping up...kind of suits the BlackBerry 10 OS.

I find no use for them so I always close when done.

I feel like there won't be used until active frames become interactive frames and thus pinable widgets.

It seems like the obvious next step for the OS and maybe we'll get it if there ever is such a thing as 10.4 or whatever the next big step is

How much battery do the active frames I use? I want to start using them for the apps I use most. I've had Insta10 in active frame almost all day and has only used 2.3% battery, but that includes the time I use the app too.

I like to have the device monitor open as it displays useful information, bbm because I use it often and sometimes Igrann or maybe Insta10 now. Wish I had a Passport so I could have all the active frames visible, not just 4

Use for a single or two apps.
The main one is dictionary that rotates my learned words in the active frame as non-intrusive words repetition & recall.
Sometimes I keep weather open but not always.

I tend to keep apps active, especially android ones I use that take a while to load. Ones that have useful active frames are kept open too, like Calendar and Weather.

The remaining three spots to cycle through the other types of app listed is often more than enough.

In truth in doesn't matter whether I close them or not because most of the apps run in the background anyway.

Calendar, corky notes, Blaq, music, device monitor. Not always all of them. Sometimes Pictures. With so many keeping Remember open, I may need to explore that. Active frames is a great feature and with the z30 I don't have to be a battery miser.

Most active frames don't use any battery. I usually have 5-6 open all the time and it doesn't register any battery use when checking for drain.
