In previous versions I used the global search function to place calls lightning fast. Just type "call john" and global search would show seperate entries for all of John's phonenumbers. Tap on the required entry in global search and the call would be placed instantly.

Now on Assistant 10.3.1 it's a different story:

I type "call John" (or Sander in the examples below. And Assistant shows one single entry for the contact.

Now I have to tap on the contact instead of a specific phonenumber and the next screen opens. Requiring me to select which phonenumber related to the contact I want to call.

Then I get this great little animation of a call icon.

Almost there... now I have to confirm that I want to dial this number.

And then finally the Assistant switches to the phone app and connects the call.

Now before I start ranting (because I know 10.3.1 sometimes just requires a new way of thinking)... does anyone know of a way this would work like it used to? And yes I know just searching for the contact, opening the contact and then selecting the phone number is a bit faster, but it's still one tap slower than before.

Also note the rediculous inconsistancy in dark and light themes in the above examples.

    Grtz, Sander.

I agree the light and dark theme is very inconsistent...that type of stuff is important to me! I have not had the opportunity to try out assistant on 10.3.1 yet but I can understand.... BlackBerry keep the flow please!

Yeah I also use the 'call somebody' instant action a lot and know what you mean. The solution is that BlackBerry Assistant comes by default with the 'full assistance' function switched on. So turn that off and you are good to go!

Doesn't work for me. Strange new glitch: with full assistance OFF every contact gets a duplicate entry in the results screen.

Could you please post a screenshot of your results in the Assistance? What version/build are you on?

That's a bug it seems, unless your contacts are duplicated in local contacts. Try clearing local contacts ( but make sure this is not where you have your contacts by default! I.e. I presume your main contacts are sync'd with a gmail, outlook etc) I'm on 10.3.1.1565.

I think they've "dumbed down" interaction. This definitely makes using certain features slower.

If the contact only has 1 phone number, it is simply a one press affair. (which is rare)

If they have several numbers, yeah, ridiculous amount of screens to go through.

...and strangely enough. Emailing as an instant action still works the old way. Assistant shows a separate entry of a contact per known email address. Speeding up the proces considerably.
