To me a Slider would have made more sense that the Windermere.... but oh well.

Sorry guys but some petition, even with 5,000 supporters isn't going to sway BlackBerry to invest in spending millions to develop a new slider device. Now you get a 500K people to pay for preorders... they might do it.

I'd love a bb10 slider. Sometimes I put my Q10 behind my Z10 so that the keyboard sticks out underneath and dream that my perfect phone has arrived :-) (sad I know haha)

Well Z3 was (likely) produced in only a 25,000 - 50,000 unit run and sold at $200 a pop.
I'm pretty sure BlackBerry could manage a BB10 slider if enough people pushed for one.

Problem is, sliders are complicated devices to make, there's a lot of engineering that goes into making a good slide mechanism otherwise you would get the dreaded oreo effect from the palm pre or worn and broken display ribbon cables. This would have to be a flagship device from BlackBerry to justify the cost and engineering and sliders normally have smaller screens/batteries to keep the size down. This limits the devices market appeal in today's spec wars. I don't think this is gonna happen unfortunately

They already have a working slider though, the Torch. They would just have to enlarge the display, get rid of the keys/trackpad... or so I think. I'm not an engineer.
