Sorry about the venting but I have to go back to 10.1

1047 is giving me so many issues in the HUB. Not deleting sms, sms not showing up, sms not showing sent, email sync issues, facebook not being marked as read after it has been opened.

I've tried resetting, restarting, rebooting, battery pull, volume rocker method reset, wiping and restoring, and I've even tried reloading the OS itself via autoloader.

Sheesh... I need stability. not bashing the great people for leaking these OS's or the leaks it self because I do understand they are not official updates.

I have had no problems with my 10.2.0.1047. Maybe you need to reinstall.

I tried that last night then this morning while at work... it started again!

Don't get me wrong, I love 10.2 features but none of the features are big eye changers to me. I can rock 10.1 until official 10.2 becomes available for me.

I've noticed some weirdness with Hub too, but it's just so much better than 10.1 that I can live with it. The only thing I've seen not work as expected was the "Mark all prior as read" feature, which didn't seem to work for e-mails (worked for texts).

Other than that, the Android runtime upgrade and some of the usability improvements make it a massive upgrade for me.

To be honest I think the initial problem is: you didn't security wipe.
If you look on the other 10.2.0.1047 threads there is no one having that same problem.

Just security wipe the phone and try again. Maybe the installation mixed up.

My advice is that you most likely won't be able to restore (95%) of the time.

1.Save your media onto your Micro SD.
2.Download IntouchApp Contacts(free) or Contact X($2.99 or whatever) to back up your contacts
3. If you care a lot about your texts by SMS Backup ($1.99 or something)
4. Sideload the "Debug Token" way. The androids apps will run the same as android and some even better.
Side note: If you do it the regular way use the 810 android runtime. 1047/1157. OS' runtime are in safety mode so the regular sideloading doesn't work as good. Debug Token always :P

I noticed you talked about battery pulls and device resets in addition to normal restarts. It is normal, even expected to have to restart development code. Not unheard of in production code either. But one thing that we have to get used to is BB10 is not BBOS. It is a much more complex OS with more complex file systems. Every time you force the OS to halt at a time not of its choosing you risk corruption of the file system. Is it this file corruption that is causing restores to fail, or the strange bugs that some see but I personally never have.

I've been watching the Q5 forums for the kind of failures we've seen on Z and Q 10s and they haven't shown up. Maybe I have missed them, or maybe they don't happen because they can't pull batteries.

Excellent advice! But I always security wipe when installing a new OS and all the times I've tried fixing this problem with either restore or reloading the OS again I've done a wipe. (tried doing this 3 times lastnight)

So I honestly think there is a bug... don't qoute me on this but I think others are reporting loss in sms and sms's not popping up or sending correctly in 10.2 (both MR and Leaked).

10.1 as soon as I get home. Lol I don't want to have to keep wiping and restoring and then signing into my 3 different email accts plus 3 other social accounts every time such a headache -_- oh well... I'll wait for official release for ATT when it comes. *hopefully with less/NO bugs.

No no no. You've got it all wrong. I'm contributing to reporting of bugs to the community that way they actually know what problems they MAY incur when loading the OS. And as stated in my first paragraph it's called "venting."
