I am on AT&T GoPhone and my Z30 was almost force updated to Software Release 10.3.1.1767 and OS Version 10.3.1.2558

It's been a couple of months now and even though it is okay on the whole - but I have been severely let down by the inability of the camera to take the simplest of pictures at close up. Specifically, there are times when I need to take pictures of some notes or a letter etc - but no matter how long you wait - the camera simply won't focus at all.

It's very frustrating - to say the least.

Also, the phone app has become worse - not that it was great on 10.2.1.xxxx either. Especially bad is that when dialing long sequence of saved numbers for conference calls - previously the interface allowed to take control of the dialing sequence midway through the dialing process and we could change the numbers to dial. Now - the app forces to first skip all the dialing sequence before it will allow to display the number keypad for dialing a different set of numbers.

NOW for the key question - is there any newer leak that fixes either or both these issues?

Change your OS....i hated 2558. move to 2744. Better focusing. Also get an app called Camera++ for the best in macro shots with a Z30!

Do i wish the camera was better? yes, i do. But once I found this app, is use it for almost all my pictures!

That manual focus feature is worth its weight in gold. The $3 is worth it for the app.

Spent the requisite $3.24 for the app and it made absolutely no difference to the camera abilities

I'm convinced that the camera on my phone is not even trying to focus at all - just stays at a default focus all the time.

Called BlackBerry and they have raised a ticket and are willing to send a replacement device as part of warranty coverage - but that will have to wait since I am traveling to India this weekend.
