Get him to connect to a proxy that you control? And tell him to request the update... Should be able to see the requests going in and out, so we can see where it's being downloaded from. Or we could be really evil and just use his pin to request updates but yeahhh.... LOOOL let's give the poor community a leak. Not at the expense of someone being pin blocked obviously....

If I remember correctly, HTTP(S) traffic monitors only pick up BlackBerry URLs if something's being downloaded through Link. So far, nothing is being downloaded over Link.

Which one is that? The error I mean.
I'm aware of the delay issue some users are reporting and the post boot password prompt issue, but this sounds like something else.

The subset error is the post boot account reset.

You could monitor what's going in and out of his device though. **** Link. I'm sure requests are shown also, device has to send data to server with current version pin device id vendor and stuff. To get a reply with what is available at the moment and sends links with it, I won't be too sure if the links all go to the Production server though. We would still be able to capture the downloaded file if it was being downloaded at the same time as the device asking for it but that would mean doing it through our hardware lool. Should work in theory though... unless my brain is just cracked right now... it is 4:21am...

I could see requests back on 10.0 with a simple packet capture, and packet sniffing stuff up.

P.S Do you want to craft a request for the update by tampering with a request from the device by editing with his pin? And Device ID and whatever? Should push the update to the phone your using. We could see the download then.

WiFi and the filesystem decided to sign a suicide pact and die one after the other. Since the best explanation is the simplest, it's Windows 8's fault.

Fire up a back up? Don't you have a whole drive back up... I wouldn't be too worried about WiFi if my file system went... Even though I'm RAID0 I would **** bricks if my array died. Do a restore or get a live USB of Ubuntu. Backup and format away... start from fresh :/

And I shall be going sleep now goodnight... Or I'll be shot by the wife for falling asleep in the middle of valentines day.

Just like when you have the .1925 and use the clock bar file from previous versions.

yeah, as Thurask was saying; if the OP opens link and clicks preferences and hits "Reload Device Software", it should download the software to that cache folder.

Will just wait until that has happened...hopefully we can grab the OS.

Just wanted to let you all know that even Windows Resource Monitor can see where traffic is going to and from.

You can also run "netstat -a >C:\netstat.txt" in an elevated command prompt to see where current connections have been established and which ports are listening.
