    Greetings,

I am looking for a way to use a backup file from OS7 to load my contacts/calander/passwords etc.

Basically I test drove an Android, then decided to come back to the BB.
In the meantime, I sold my 9900 (after backing it up, of course)

    Thanks in advance.

I thought of that....but that does nothing for my passwords, memopad etc.
I'm not a tech guy but this seems to me like it should be doable....no?

If you backed it up with BB Link, you'll be able to transfer everything over within the restore settings. All your memos will migrate into BB Remember in unlisted notes.

Boots 4283's post above FTW....My faith in BB is fully restored.

If the previous smartphone is not available a backup file can be used

Connect the BlackBerry 10 smartphone to the computer using the USB cable.
At the bottom of the BlackBerry Link screen, press the up arrow to the right of the name of the new BlackBerry smartphone.
Select Restore > Restore from backup file > Legacy Device Backup Files.
    Select the desired backup file.
Place a checkmark next to the data to restore to the BlackBerry 10 smartphone. To restore all supported data, place a checkmark next to Restore all data.
Note: For a description of the BlackBerry smartphone databases, refer to KB03974.
    Press Restore.
