10.2.1.2977. Never seen that on any of my other previous os either. if the update don't work take it back. The color temp changes it from redish= warm to bluish=cold. I never seen purple. The blacks on an oled should be 100% black. It's what makes the technology so appealing for next Gen videophiles.

I've noticed the same thing when I was testing a BlackBerry Z30. I liked the screen, but opposed to my Z10 it got a bit purple when backlight was set to low, right after I set it to max it became neutral grey again. I thought it was just a property of all AMOLED screens, but since someone mentioned that after replacement the screen got better, I wonder whether it is a bug on some devices.

Mine is also like that. I thought it was normal. It will become apparent when you are setting the brightness to low. This is one of the first thing I realized when I move to Z30 from Z10.

I think that's normal on Amoled screens, colors are too much saturated...

Just tried it on mine, in a pitch black room on min brightness mine does turn slightly purple. Not as bad as the pictures here but it's there. Any light in the room or increase in brightness setting and it goes away.

Ended up getting a replacement device. It doesn't look as bad now. Thanks for all the answers!
