    It appears the Intelligent Assitant is going to be a bigger part of BB10 in 10.3, I am curious what people think would be some good names.

    Do you think the name matters based on the voice (female vs male)? Should it be a non-traditional name?

    I would say the name "Iris" is out, unless of course you want to imply the BB10 IA is some sort of backwards Siri!

    I was doing some research into how Siri got its name and it appears the name or something close has meanings in other languages/cultures.

    How Siri got its name

    If BlackBerry is going to name the IA it might make sense to look at how one would describe BlackBerry in one word or concept and take the name that has this meaning in another language. Something with a bit of a kick to it.

    I'm fairly certain that Iris was taken already. I had it on my S2 before, and it worked similarly to Siri.

    Haha yeah, it wouldn't be a first choice for me as it appears to be a bit of a rip-off of the Siri name (in a way).

    I like the option to pick voice but another thing to consider would be the branding benefits of a single option for consistency reasons, if they are looking to make it a "personality".

    If it is to be more like voice control and more "machine-like" in nature than flexibility in options would make sense IMHO. This could be a bit of a differentiator as well with the right choices.
