Alright so I just updated to 10.3.1 official but I can't mute or silence my incoming calls anymore by simply touching the screen. This is a feature I used all the time before. Is there anyway to turn that feature back on?

This option of touching anywhere on screen was taken away from 10.3.1, if I recall correctly. Now, either touch middle icon or just touch any of volume key, it would be silence.

Yeah I used to be able to just tap the screen without having to look at the phone to silence a call. Although I had not tried the volume key option so I'll give that a try but nothing beats the ease of tapping anywhere...

Am I the only one that used this feature heavily?

Yeah, this is as annoying as not being able to drag the focus spot on the camera any more.

BlackBerry seems to have taken steps backwards with 10.3. I may be alone but I'm not a fan of it. Wish didn't update.

Used it exclusively. However, I take comfort in knowing this is not the only feature removed that I used . . . NOT!

Oh my, yeah the camera picture taking feature is also sorely missed on my end. It's ironic that as BlackBerry is removing the feature Google is adding it.

That "touch anywhere" to take a photo is sorely missed. I've got a Z30. So, if you must touch that shutter button, a one handed Selfie is next to impossible!

There were many complaints (see the forum) that the "touch anywhere on the screen to silent call" leads to phones not even ringing, espeacially if they are in the pocket, screen facing the body. So... if you want to ignore a call without rejecting it and deliberately let it ring in silence, you have deliberately to touch the allotted icon for that, in the middle.

Another feature that has been "correctet": emergency calls. Many phones called the emergency when in the pockets. Now, when you type the emergency button, you are asked to type the emergency number then confirm button.

A lot of emprovements in comparison to the past!

Use a volume key (up or down), either works... why don't you turn the front camera on?? You can look at your self like in a mirror while taking the selfy... okay... better pixel rate in the rear cam... a good argument... so use volume key to snap the shot ;-)

One tap on the screen drags the focus spot to the point you touched! Works.
Makes the focussing faster: tap on the screen then take the photo either with the button on the screen or one of the volume keys.

Thanks for the reply. I did figure that out, just don't like it as much as the drag to focus and tap to take picture. Personal preference I guess.

Why has this been removed anyway, on the Keyone you can yes touch the volume keys and it will go silent but that is a bit awkward, volume keys could be used to.. well.. lower the volume..
