    Second hand info from GF:

Calls me in a panic asking how to activate "Mute" while dialed in to a conference call, says she can't find it anywhere. She is on a Verizon Z30 - whatever their official OS version of 10.2.1. Would have probably been an actual hosted call from her company - a larger / corporate type conference call (trying to get details from her - will update OP when she responds).

I gave her a few suggestions and she had to hang up and get back onto the call as it was starting. She BBM'd and said she never found it.

Can't recall from my Z10/Q10/Z30 on AT&T 10.2.1 if that ever was an issue or not (infrequent conference call requirements for me).

Anyone have any insight on this?

****EDIT: To be clear - there was no icon on the screen after joining the call.

If I remember it right, just call the number, type the digits code to enter the room, and only then type the "mute" icon that appear on screen... what else ?

I'm on 10.3.x, but I believe she would need to toggle from the dial pad screen...or she could have simply used the mute on the side of the phone.

We've all been in the same boat one time or another...stressed out and missed the obvious solution.

Icon wasn't on the dial pad screen. Told her to try the hardware button on the side of the phone - no joy.

Was it a conference call hosted at her enterprise, or just a BlackBerry conference call ? Can be the server or the carrier fault.

Per OP - a hosted call. Not a 3-way/BB call.

I'm on a conference call right now and was trying to mute myself.

Just use the small button between the Volume up/down buttons on the upper right hand side of the device. Worked beautifully.
