    I Gmail for my email, and have some messages that have more than one label via filter (eg, my subscription emails have "subscription junk" and then the service (eg, "LinkedIn") for easy filtering.

    The problem is this messages show up in duplicate and occasionally in triplicate in the lock screen.

    Is there a solution for this beyond not having duplicate labels in Gmail (or folders, as BlackBerry sees them)?

    I don't have the option to sync all mail in BlackBerry despite it being set up in Gmail...

    No, I don't think there is a way around it. I've experimented myself. Each label in Gmail is viewed as a folder on device. So you are essentially making a duplicate of the email message for each additional label you apply to it. It's a quirk of the Gmail label system.

    If your filter in Gmail are set to "skip the inbox" and on your BlackBerry you have "sync all folders" there is where your issue is.

    To fix it ( and to be clear this is more of a Google issue) you have to apply the labels let the messages go to the inbox, and disable sync all folders in your BlackBerry.

    Basically your filter in Gmail should be something like

    From: @xxxx. com
    Apply label xxx

    All your mail will go to the inbox.

    There's no workaround for this that I know of

    I have some as mark as read, but none are set to skip the inbox.

    You can skip inbox but don't sync the 2nd label. Only sync the 1st label. This should also only retrieve one instance
