So I'm wondering if anyone has thought about or tried to mod a Moment lens for a BlackBerry 10 phone. I'm on the Z30 and have noticed I often just leave my DSLR behind nowadays in favor of my mobile phone unless I shoot a wedding or something.

I'm tempted to try one of the photojojo lenses or really up the anty to the Moment lens.

Problem is the Moment lens has a backing that's specifically build for different phones. Ie some androids and iPhones. So it would have to be modded. Once I get the passport I'm going to seriously look at modding it.

Any thoughts about this out there BlackBerry nation? I'm not sure on the best subsection to put this discussion so I left it since it might cover different models.

I would think that adding a lens to an existing lens is going to give inferior results.

That is the counter argument, glass on glass isn't a good idea, but check out some of the example images (momentlens search on instgram or flickr).. however the results I've seen are pretty sweet. It's nice to have different focal length options, also I love wide angle

Hey guys, I bought a clip on lens system from Thailand for about THB200 (~USD7). Comes with wide angle, fish eye and macro. It's clip on so it's works on all devices, it takes some jiggling to get the lenses aligned but it's good fun!

    Nice, thanks for sharing! !

I might hold out for a mod for the moment lens, they are highest quality images I've seen.

I got the moment tele with an iPhone mount. So I need to figure out which other mount would be best to mod for the Passport. I think one of the android mounts will be best

I'm looking at the mounting plates and it looks like either of the galaxy S series plates might work. Does anyone have an S4? Does the camera look to be the same size as the passport?

I feel like I'm talking to myself here.. after examining my friends S4 I think the mounting plate should work so I ordered the wide angle. Stoked!

Lenses have arrived! And the mount seems like a decent fit. It does sit flush however its too tall to match to the flash hole unless it sits correctly which covers the flash up. Which is fine as I hate fake light. Right now I've only tried it on my cheap plastic case as I don't wanna adhere it to my passport itself. Here's some pics

Sure! In the current mod I've got some small vignetting. The tape isn't strong enough to keep the mount in place while screwing it in so it slides.

Here's a sample shot. This glass is fantastic. Looks really good. One of the reason I went with the moment lens over other lenses like linked above. I don't want cheap plastic in front of the lens. I want high quality glass.

That first link is good. I was hoping for more specifics about the BlackBerry Z30 and what she did exactly with it but otherwise it's a great intro for macro stuff for those who are new to it.

Also good to hear even pro photo were impressed with that 3 lens kit on amazon. I might check it out if the moment lens doesn't live up to the hype. But they probably will. They even feel solid like real lenses!
