I am loving the integration of being able to add your home address. As long as this is better than whatever Apple has on the iPhone I'll be satisfied!

Is there any official or trustworthy information yet whether we'll get offline maps or not? I heard it *should* be included, though I have yet to find any clue which varifies offline maps. This would be a pretty important feture for me, my carrier coverage sucks, Wifi is not always available and in general I travel a lot and just don't want this constant data streaming draining the battery even more.

Yeah, is there any way we can get a picture zoomed in to what the streets look like?

What if RIM negotiated access to Nokia Maps during their IP settlement? I've used Nokia Maps, and they are definitely #2 after Google Maps, and in some cases even better (for countries outside US, Western Europe)!

I am so excited about BB10, but I DO NEED a good Map solution and it's one of the KEY features that must be delivered along with a good camera to make it stand out!

It doesn't look nowhere near the final version yet.

The only thing I'm hoping that This maps has is that it Saves our Information, unlike BlackBerry Traffic where if the app freezes or you update the OS, and have to install the app again it forgets the information you had placed on it. I have to manually re-enter my information and it's a pain. I Hope This one Does Not have that issue.

This isn't Google maps that stores all your info on servers made specifically as data farms to store everything they have collected about you. I don't mind local storage for previous locations or saved locations I have told it to save. But you are talking more cloud storage stuff. And I don't think RIM is the business of personal data collection.

I assume 'maps' is different from turn-by-turn navigation? I ask because BB Traffic is EXTREMELY important to me. Have RIM announced what they plan to do for turn-by-turn navigation?

RIM really is going for the whole battery saving with the dark black UI. It also suits its name "BlackBerry"

Yeah, but it would be nice to have the ability to change colors. I personally would use dark blue even though black is still a good alternative.

If this slide is accurate, we won't need BB Traffic. I have installed and deleted Traffic twice on my Torch. Just don't like it; seriously, we're in 2013 not 2003.

This new version in that slide seems like a real improvement.

There isn't a constant data streaming, even BBOS Maps caches the whole route and all maps every viewed.

That battery saving however only works on AMOLED screens, so users with a Z10 do not benefit from it.
