There's no way to activate unicode that I'm aware of.

That said, if you can email that to yourself from PC to your device, you can copy the resulting symbol. Then, you can create a "shortcut" for it. Go to Settings > Input & Language > Prediction and Correction > Word Substitution. Create a new shortcut. Under typing, use an easy to remember 2 or 3 letter code that isn't a word. Then paste the symbol in the second field. Then, when you use that 3 letter shortcut anywhere in an email, text or BBM message, the symbol will be inserted.
