I am running the android APK on 10.3 on a Q10, lync notifications leave a little to be desired, they don't go into the hub, I need the app actually open in order to get messages... can anyone recommend anything else?

Lync notifications are horrible in every version of the app that I have used on any platform (well, the full Windows app does notifications reliably ) - Android was the worst, iPhone was not much better. If I didn't keep the app open, I could not reliably get notified of new chat messages.

I believe the Blackberry Enterprise IM has decent lync support, but requires BES10 / BES12

I got the trial, I'm pretty lost though.

Have you tried it? Does it work well for communicating with people who have lync?

Ahh, darn, that's what my company uses

The only other way for a native Lync client is for me to run a BES?

There is already a native OSC app for BB10 that works with Lync 2013 Edge server and federation. Talk to your administrator.

My IT admin seems to be anti-blackberry, if it's not iOS or Android he doesn't support it... what is this native app called?

The android apk for both lync 2013 and lync 2010 work extremely well on all BlackBerry 10 devices with at least 10.3. they work Better than the lync app does on my HTC one m8 for windows phone.

They are working on it, but as of a month ago it wasn't available. It's also subscription based and you would need your IT to approve and implement. Unless they change the rules for 365.

That is the humongous problem with all Lync clients. It's worst with windows phone, which kinda makes you wonder if this is the fate that awaits BlackBerry native os 10 when the focus shifts to off platform development. The only Lync client that works acceptably in my opinion when you are logged into multiple clients is the ios version and even it leaves quite a bit to be desired. Microsoft is replacing Lync with Skype for business in office 2016...so who knows what's going to happen

BlackBerry enterprise IM also works with desktop also being signed in. Unfortunately that's only for BES.

Do you get notifications when the Lync app is closed? That's my biggest pain point right now, I have to make sure it's always open.

I also always leave Lync logged in on my work desktop.

I tried it back on z10 and only tried it temp. Haven't installed it again after switching to z30.
I personally only require it when I'm at work. So I don't need it on my phone. I was basically just testing it for IT when we first started using Lync

You do with one of the Lync apps (I think 2010) the other one you don't (2013)

Found and installed a Lync 2010 apk, I can't log in though, I normally use my windows domain password (for my company's domain controller) along with my corporate email address for my username to log in to lync 2013 (my company uses office365)

But it's not working on Lync 2010, any advice?

There is no "Lync Enterprise Messenger" in BlackBerry World.
There is "BlackBerry Enterprise IM"(for Lync) and it has already been mentioned and requires BES.

Check out BlackBerry Enterprise IM in BlackBerry World! You can find it at http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/27566165
