The built-in one doesn't support many formats, I downloaded avplayer but I can't fast forward, if I re open a video and want to pickup where I left off, I would have to press the fwd button a million times to get there, android players rape the battery and I'm not gonna spend money paying for a barely functioning BB10 app that may not see any updates.

Do you guys have any ideas?

For video formats and codecs outside of the native Videos app on my Z30, I use KalemSoft Media Player.

Well, my Star Player doesn't do any extra formats but it does have auto resuming and has optional forward and rewind buttons Buttons in the Menu.

Was updated 9 days ago as well, although I'd obviously prefer if you bought it I'll give you a promotion code if you PM me.

Can it play flv? If it can I'll maybe buy it, it's got a fair price and it's updated.

Works for me, have never had an issue with, handles everything I throw at it fine even stuff from currently produced media, and I would be still happy to pay even more than $5 for it.
    But that is just me.
Look around more if you wish.

No it won't play flv, doesn't use a custom engine so is limited somewhat on the codecs front

Try MXPlayerPro Android which works great with most of features.
Little lag observed when h265 files played.

It costs 5 bucks, and hasn't been updated in a year, no way I'm buying that.

Well it still works and I found no bugs. So update is irrelevant. Just saying ~

    This.
Not sure, though, if you can get it to work on BB10.

With Cobalt's Play store installed, download the Complete Kodi Setup Wizard.
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...uru.cksw&hl=en

Download Kodi 15.2, when installed you can change the skin to reTouched.

The best video player / media center out there.

So I guess there's no way to get a decent vid player on BB10 without sideloading or spending money...
    Oh well I tried.

Do you really need flv support? It's just a container and could easily be changed to mp4 or mkv. BB10 is able to play most formats inside such containers hence Star Player still seems like a viable option.

Have you considered Autoplay Videos? It's a decent one that I use as my main vid player!
