I have plugged my z10 to a desktop, it asked me for my password, I entered my pass. It was wrong so I did it again. No success. I unplugged it and tried to enter it manually on my phone. No success, it says it's wrong. I have now tried 8/10 times already. Any clues? I haven't changed my pass, what I noticed it changed from easy (only numbers) to 'normal' with letters. Please help as I have important data and I don't want to loose it/wipe it.
Have upgraded to 10.3.1052 recently (from 10.2) now I wanted to go up for a newer one as the keyboard is killing me.

As far as I know there's no getting around it. Someone must have changed your password. Hopefully you have a recent backup just go through the 10 tries then restore....

No I don't think so as this is a different password. Your BB ID email and password (same one used for buying apps) is all that is required to log into BB Protect. Your phone can have it's own separate password.

I've just tried it (through BB Protect), no success. There is an info that after 8th try device wont change it. Damn it.

Unfortunately, if you can't do it through BlackBerry Protect, then I think you are out of luck. You have two tries left to get it right. Make sure you have the right case and the right password! Good luck!

Wiped, loaded with 1154.
Fortunately on other dektop I manged to do backup without entering password (strange btw).
If I had only entered 7 times I think I would've been able to change it through BB Protect, so remember not to exceed 7 tries

The same happened to me just a week ago, I was so used to unlocking my Z10 using Picture Password that I forgot the original one that I set, the alphanumeric on, so I tried the 10 times and all my data got erased. Now it's if I got a new phone, but I learned my lesson very well.
