Just letting you guys know ... if the Skype (PREVIEW) app in AppWorld is laggy for you then feel free to sideload the latest android version. Heck..sideload it anyways, it's faster.

It also recognizes the proximity sensor so the display turns itself off when you're making a call. Seemed pretty cool for an android app so I thought I should mention - but then again, the preview app may be able to do the same, not sure.

Yup, this version is way better than the one in BlackBerry World. Glad I downloaded latest skype last week. 100% better.

Old news.
Only thing what's not good in Skype 4, the status can only set on available or offline.
That's also what you can see by your friends.

With the old version you have the ability to set your status to online, away, do not disturb, invisible or offline.
And see the real status of your friends. Not only online or offline.

D'oh no need to flame.

I did not know this version works so much better compared to the appworld one until I actually tested it. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one.

On a side-note, I'm not sure if this app runs in the background and delivers notifications in the hub...anyone can tell for sure?

I can confirm the battery drain with Skype installed. I'm continually adding and removing this app to manage my battery life. If I'm going to be on carrier all day Skype is out. If I'm by a charger all day I'll reinstall it.

Today i really tested out the battery on the Q. Phone came off of charger at 9:20 am and had 30% left at around 12 midnight. Suprised the **** out of me!
