Hi everyone,

Just wanted to know if anyone has/had this issue, and if so, how to remedy it.

On my Q10, I have OS verion 10.2.0.1047 (Software 10.2.0.149) installed (with the squircle) with no issues.

Yesterday and today, I keep getting notifications for a software update available and to update to BB 10 OS Version 10.2.0.424 (the newest official build for Rogers/Fido, pushed last week).

As I understand it, the Version given in the notification is the OS version, not software build version. So, what I have installed (.1047) would then be newer than the official release (.424). When I've installed leaked OS's onto my legacy BBs, I've never received a software update notification if the official release was older than the installed leaked version.

Is there a way to stop these notifications until an actual newer version of OS is officially released?

You can just ignore it but the OS they are trying to send you is NEWER than the one you have, I believe. I mean, I had 1047 and just loaded 1725. Also the newest official is 1791 I believe. Now I could be wrong, but someone will correct me soon enough.

I have been ignoring, but I don't want to keep getting the notifications every 12 hours.

I thought the OS numbers increased with newer versions? (e.g., .424, the official, is older than .1047 (what I have), which is older than .1725 (a newer leak you have), which is older than .1791 (official somewhere other than here) )

At least that's my deal. Every night at 9:45 PM I get a 3 mb update. I know it's trying to install the white theme, because I updated to see.

Now I just ignore it everynight.

Some say it's the os trying to install apps back that were deleted.

You're confused about the difference between software version and OS version. .424 is the newest. 1791 that is out. Update your phone because the 10.2.0.424 is the software version number of OS 10.2.0.1791.

No, it's about 769 mb.
I don't have ability to change bet light/dark themes (that's only on OS version 17xx and up)

I wasn't sure if. 424 was software or OS version (since the notification is a bit ambiguous--see image).

I heard I now will lose my squircle? (inot a big deal, haha, I just didn't know what it was until I got this phone, preloaded with leaked. 1047)
