    Typing bbm Name no longer opens the chat but instead only allow me to send a single bbm message.
    There should be an option for that.

    Perhaps there is a setting? Did you try swiping down and looking for a settings options, or the three dots?

    What software are you on?

    Works fine for me, I did notice between 10.2 and 10.3 the instand action / universal search went backwards A LOT. This has been drastically improved in 10.3.1, it's back to 10.2 speeds and information with the option for the assistant :-)
