I was forced to open an Outlook.com account in order to use ActiveSync and beecause sometimes my Gmail account stopped getting emails on my Q10 til I reentered my password.

I opened some topics here but I didn't find any fixes to that. Did anyone get the same problem? Any suggestions? Is there any way to get ActiveSync on Gmail and keep emails forever?

I prefer Gmail to Outlook.com and I want it back so bad... Please help... Thanks all.

As already noted, Gmail is no longer available via ActiveSync. If you want to go the IMAP route and are on OS 10.1.0.4xxx, you can set up your Gmail account to sync "forever". When adding the account is the only time to do so. When adding, go to the advanced screen, choose Gmail, enter credentials, etc. BUT before leaving that screen, scroll to the very bottom and set initial sync interval to forever. It works a treat.

Uhm... Initial sync can be set at 90 days at most, and I'm on 10.1.0.4285...

I tried this and had to move back to Gmail because as far as I could determine IMAP is not available on outlook.com when using a PC email client like Thunderbird.

Worked beautifully on my phone but I just can't take POP email on a PC. Lol.

I switched to Outlook from Gmail for the same reason as the OP, and I'm not regretting it. The emails come faster than with Gmail, I can organize threads in conversation mode just like I did in Gmail, and I can block senders altogether. My only issue right now is training the spam filter, something that Gmail had finely tuned after several years of use.

What does the OP find to be so bad about Outlook?
