Default the Hub and Gmail aliases

Has anyone figured out how to send emails with Gmail alias (alternate sender address)?

I have added two Gmail accounts to the Hub,
used automatic gmail setup for the first one,
and 'advanced settings' using IMAP for the other one.
    No difference.

The most annoying bit is that I cannot reply from the same address to which the email was sent to me

    Any advice will be appreciated

Am I the only one who uses Gmail for business with multiple aliases?

This really make me want to go back to android,
communication is the main reason I use a smartphone

I couldn't care less about instagram, netflix, spotify, game X, game Y, but no way to use email aliases?
Never had BB before, but I can't believe legacy BB devices that built their market position on email communication couln't do it

    I have emailed BB support.
Lookes like it was possible with OS7
KB02204-Change the Sent From Address for email messages

I have noticed no 'send as option' problem doesn't apply to Gmail only but to any other IMAP account as well.
    Not sure about Sctive Sync.

Since yesterday I've been carrying two handset, Z10 + xperia and I see little point for that in a long run.
I'm dissapointed with samsung S4 premiere but HTC One seems promising.

I'll give it some time, but if its not possible to use such basic business email option as 'send email as' my
mint condition Z10, black, unlocked + brodit active car cradle + leather sleeve will be soon listed on ebay UK
If someone is interested prv me

    Yes, yes, YEEEEEES!

    So simple, so genius

It may be a primitive workaround but its super effective.
Never used mobile version of Gmail before. it has very clean UI and just works the way I want.
Works like a charm and does syncs with the Hub.

    Thank you Vijik !

    You're very welcome.

I used to go around with both 9900 and Z10 in my pocket, 9900 being solely used for Gmail.
I ended up writing an app to use a dedicated Z10 browser for my Gmails. Now the Z10 has taken totally over from the good old 9900.

Default Gmail Aliases possible with native hub on Z10

Hello (sorry for my english... french user)

It's possible to use an alias with gmail account and native hub on Z10 :

1- You have to set on gmail server your alias parameters
2- On the Z10, you have to set following parameters (in mail account parameters) :
    Description = your choice
    Name = your choice
User name : your gmail email account : for example : toto@gmail.com
email address : you alias email acount : for exemple : toto@toto.com
    password : gmail password
    server : imap.gmail.com
    port : 993
    Cryptage : SSL
SMTP Username account : your gmail email account : toto@gmail.com
    SMTP Password : gmail password
    SMTP address server : smtp.gmail.com
    SMTP Port : 465
    Cryptage : SSL
    Push : up to you

Now, you can use your alias. If you send a message from the Z10, your email address will be toto@toto.com. And there is no problem in outlook or other mail software or webmail, you address is toto@toto.com (no alias, no "on behalf", etc.).

In fact, the most importants parameters to set are :
User name : your gmail email account : for example : toto@gmail.com
email address : you alias email acount : for exemple : toto@toto.com

    Enjoy !

I have been using my Q10 with this exact (alias/gmail/imap) setup until I got a second replacement Q10 today. It will not longer accept toto@toto.com(using earlier alias example) as the email address . Anyone else have a solution. I may have to go Android even thought I really like the keyboard.

At first I couldn't succeed with setting up an alias, too. I'm running 10.2.1. Right now I figured out, how to set it up: First upon adding a new Gmail account, type in your original Gmail mail address (i.e. toto@gmail.com). You'll then be shown a Google login page. Type your password and proceed. Here, as outlined by Cimation please type your email alias (i.e. toto@toto.com). Save and voila

I Have tried this method on my Z10 every way I can think of and it doesn't work. As soon as I tell the Z10 my EMail address is ME@mydomain.com the Gmail SMTP server refuses the connection. Using me@Gmail.com as userid and password in the setup screen
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks

Also, did you make the SRV changes for your domain? I think that is what is needed for your domain address to work without entering server details.

Your username should be username@mydomain.com, and the email should be the alias@mydomain.com. If that doesn't work, username@gmail.com for username and alias@mydomain.com.

    Server: imap.gmail.com
    Port 993
    SSL Encryption

    SMTP Server:
    smtp.gmail.com
    SMTP port 465
    SSL Encryption

I can't get this to work either. What's interesting is that I got a new replacement Q10 (my fourth since Oct 2013) and it had earlier version of the operating system.Gmail with an alias worked fine, but as soon as I loaded 10.2 it stopped working. So something changed on Blackberry's end. Whats SRV?
