Is there a way to use Nicknames in Contacts as the name displayed?

    Sorry, there is not.

Contacts & Phone apps offer little in the way of customization unfortunately.

PS Please don't leave the OP blank if you start a thread. Repeat the title question ay minimum, or hopefully elaborate, at least a little. Thanks!

I think as long as you put just the nickname in the first are you can call them up by what's in there.

Thanks for the quick response! I didn't see a way to use the Nickname category, but thought maybe I was missing something. Kinda begs the question of why it's there?

Sure. Just put the nickname in place of their proper name.

I use the nicknames for quick dialing especially when driving and connected to the Bluetooth speaker. On specific contacts I also find easier to search by the nickname, it gives me less results.

I input nicknames in a lot of contacts as their first name field since many Indonesians of javanese descent have only one single name (no last or family name)
