Does anyone have any idea how much longer Verizon is going to wait to release 10.2? Please hold the, "Download a leak and upgrade" comments. Tried that once before and was disastrous, and I'd rather just wait patiently for the official release. 10.2 was officially released by BlackBerry almost two months ago, though I am not surprised to see Verizon dragging their feet, as always. I just hope it's not being delayed by something stupid like the issue in 10.1 where in ~2% of instances, if the phone had less than 30% battery during the upgrade, it could brick...or whatever that was.

I'm on 10.1 and the phone has become very laggy and slow...hoping that 10.2 will correct this. Texting, emailing, everything is blocky and slow. Why does the OS seem to become so much slower and more unstable over time? I remember this with 10.0 as well.

About 4 days before the rest of the worlds carriers release 10.2.1

Do they take this long for Android updates too? Or is this just a BlackBerry thing?

Well as a 35 year VZW customer and an 8 year BB customer....who know? or never would be my best answers.
I have never waited for an OTA upgrade from VZW. Have always loaded leaks and enjoyed my phones MONTHS ahead of other Verizon customers. They don't care about me...why should I wait for them?

BlackBerry said US update starts in Winter which is December 21st. Then it's up to different carriers to push the update out to their customers. Verizon has always been slower than other carriers.

Verizon is ALWAYS behind in releases of OSs for any device, BB, Android etc, even back in the feature phone days. And further often times they will choose to skip an OS update and jump (and it will still be late) to the next one. So don't be surprised if they never get 10.2 regular and just jump to 10.2.1

I am on v10.1 Verizon. I find some apps will not install on 10.1. Android Central is one of them.

You may be waiting until summer. I'm on Verizon also. I have had failures in a leak load in the past. Please try again. No restore, no security wipe either. Make believe you just bought the phone. Load the leak. Run the autoloader twice if you like, back to back. It only takes a few minutes. Then set up fresh. You'll love 10.2.1.1055...I do.

Verizon will update to 10.2.0.xxxx when they decide to. Not before and not later.

If you want the 10.2 goodness, just load another carrier's official 10.2 on your phone using Sachesi.

Better yet, skip 10.2 and jump to 10.2.1.1055! Wow, what a difference an OS upgrade makes!

Most of us are on 10.2.1 and rocking( I'm) . Dude just take a chances. Where is the excitement when it's becomes a boring topic for everyone except for YOU. But if you wanna wait, it's your choice. But I can assure you that you are missing out the fun of direct APK installation and lots and lots of other features. XoXo.

    Have fun waiting.

Those of us on AT&T are right there with you.

A "winter" time frame has been given, and they'll take it all the way to the end as they always do.

I'm not waiting. Went to 10.2.1 myself.

Any more info on whether it's possible to get 10.2.1 via Sachesi? Or not yet? I already did 10.2.0 that way and was super easy with no issues.

    ^^^^^this.

If you don't want to do leaks then update official via another carrier by using Sachesi.

For the record. I am on Verizon and running the 10.2.1.1055 leak. It kills 10.2.

That's absolutely pathetic that Verizon hasn't pushed out 10.2.

Has anyone actually asked why they take so long to roll out upgrades that unlock new features and improve functionality? I'd be one irate customer escalating as high as I could go if I was a Verizon customer...
    Good luck folks.

Seek not to find the answer... just understand the question.

Running 10.2.1.1055 here. All is good with Verizon. Only thing is that your Visual Voice Mail will not work and cannot delete individuals call records. Have to clear the entire list. Other than that, the OS rocks.

This behavior is standard VZW and has been this way for years. Their primary mission is to provide the best mobile network and make boatloads of money in the process. You'll get no support from VZW to provide us what we deserve...the latest functioning OS. Fortunately, CB gives us the resources to keep our devices up to date and working.

I have a feeling that whenever Verizon gets around to 10.2, it'll be like their Z30 OS; very old (like before 10.2.0.1443 old), but with a couple changes from the later releases backported in. Just like their Z10 release.

Unlock the phone and buy a sim from one of the Canadian Carriers. Pop it in and download the OS , pop back in your Verizon sim and the way you go. I bought 3 of the carriers sims. $10 each. Simple simple. I'm not a techie. Love my BB's.
