Use mine all the time to watch movies on a bigger screen.

How many people have even used the HDMI out on the BlackBerry 10 devices?

It pains me everytime I look at it, thinking it could have been used for something more...practical...maybe a dedicated shortcut hard button retaining the history of the past 10 years...

Or it could have been used for...?

I use mine whenever I travel and sometimes at home. Mostly I use it to watch TV shows and Movies that I have put on the 64GB SD Card. Has been a great feature, I would miss it if it was removed, I will look for it on all future phones.

The question is who hasn't used HDMI when almost every TV now a days has HDMI input. It's just another thing blackberry destroys iPhone at
What would you put there instead?

I've used mine in hotels and when travelling, but realistically, when you can send via wireless (as I often do), who needs a cable?

Use it regularly - videos, games sometimes, mirroring (used in conjunction with my bluetooth mouse and keyboard). Love it.

I wish the HDMI out on the z10 shot out h.264 video with the quality of my BB Playbook tablet HDMI out.

The z10 just doesn't seem to process the video as well for some reason and I get artifacts and lower quality that I would like.

The work around I use now whenever I have the option is the USB Mass Stroage feature under the Storage and Access menu in the Settings. Mounts up the 64gb SD card in my z10 like a champ when connected to SmartTV's and is a great way to share media or files with any regular computer as well.

If you streamed a show on wifi, why did you use the HDMI Out port?

    Posted via CB10
Because it nice to watch it on a big screen.

Many websites have shows that run in a Flash player that my TV and Xbox cannot play. So instead of dragging out the laptop, I just plug in my phone.

    No, never. It's useless.
It may be useless for you, but for myself and others it is very useful and I bet many Iflop owners wish they had HDMI.
I use mine while on the road almost weekly, mostly to stream my Bell TV account to Tv's in my hotel rooms.
I have also used it during presentations at work, by connecting it to a board room projector.

Such a small sample of users and yet so many responses. I think this lends credence to my earlier post - Miracast would have been wildly popular on the Z10.

    ALL THE TIME!

The fact that we do have SD Card Slots and Standard Ports is a big plus IMHO over what iPhones uses. And even a few Android devices are missing some of these items. That said it doesn't trump the rest of the ecosystem the is missing from BlackBerry, just that if we did have apps I think BB10 devices could hold their own pretty well.

I use HDMI so often I can't imagine not having it.
Home it's used for movie and games.

But there's nothing like visiting the grandparents and showing them on their tele' via hdmi, videos and pictures of the grandkids swim meets, parts of school plays, ballet and violin recitals.
