Thumbs up How to get BB10 Hardware ID and sideload app from bar file into BlackBerry 10

As we know, applications for BlackBerry 10 only are installed by two ways: via BlackBerry World and Side-load app from .bar file. Along with support for running Android applications (apk) is converted to. bar on the BB10 so the installation (side-load) .bar file on BB10 is an essential need. So this vnBB10 utility designed to help you install and manage applications from the .bar files is easy.

Besides, the utility also allows you to see all the information about your BB10 devices such as: Model, Hardware ID, IMEI, Serial Number, PIN … Especially Hardware ID, because this parameter can not be viewed directly on the BB10, and it is essential if you plan to install the Offline operating system for BB10 by Autoload file.

    Requirements:
    • A computer running Windows XP or later
    • Java Runtime Environment, if not, download from here: JRE 7 from Oracle
    • Download and install vnBB10
    • BB10 has to enable Development Mode

Main screen, input IP Address and Password to connect to your BB10 device

Connected to your device, all device information that you need to know

Click nút Install Apps if you want to sideload app from .bar files
    • Support Drag and Drop .bar files into the list, or click Add to insert .bar files
    • Clear all list of app, or right-mouse click to remove a selected item.
    • Install to begin side-load all app in the list
    • Back return back to main screen

Side-load with progress information for each app

Managing all applications that side-load into your BB10 device: click Manage Apps from main screen
    • You can Check Status of each application to know that it’s running or not
    • Close running app by click Terminate
    • Open a app by click Launch App
    • Remove/Erase app by click Uninstall

Download: Download Page | vnbb's blog

    This Utility support PlayBook also.

Most likely a false positive. Heres the virustotal report: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/6...is/1363096935/

Works good so far. A bit of a tick in waiting for Uninstallation and in waiting for an Added bar file to populate, but we are on v 1.0 after all. DDPB was great and simple, so look forward to utilizing this as well.

No offense, but aren't you the same folks who ran that infamous web site full of bootleg PB apps? And why does the current version of the vnPButils app include an option to extract .BAR files from a PB backup image? For what purpose would someone want to extract the .BAR file outside of software piracy?

Seems a bit fishy to me...

Thanks for this because I had a few apps that I lost the bar files to. now the crap is off my phone and off my playbook. Nice Program will definitely recommend to friends of mine that sideload a heck of a lot of apps.

Ever think of myabe someone has a different ID on both their devices (playbook/z10,playbook/playbook) and maybe want an app that they paid for but can't have it because of the different ID so they transfer it like that, and also, the destop software already allows bar excraction in a different form,so im guessing blackberry is encouraging piracy also? Sighs just appreciate the developers work jeez or just dont use it.

Ever consider that the very scenario you describe above constitutes piracy? Or at least a violation of the EULA?

Did you input correct IP Address? And your Z10 has been in Development Mode?

You're absolutely right. In fact, why not extrapolate your logic to other platforms? I'm sure Microsoft won't care if that copy of Office you bought for your home PC ends up on your wife's laptop, your brother's tablet and your neighbor's netbook. After all, you paid for it, right?

Of course, Microsoft *does* care, which is why they implemented their various activation mechanisms (WGA, et al).

Bottom Line: Just because you can get away with it doesn't mean it's OK to do so.

Besides, I thought RIM fixed this security hole by encrypting the backup image and tying individual App World .BAR packages to specific BB ID's.

Like Microsoft, the folks from Waterloo also seem to care, so much so that they've taken steps to stop what they consider to be an unauthorized exploitation of their backup mechanism.

I'm not a tech guy so forgive me if i'm completely wrong........but doesn't sideloading make a blackberry vulnerable to malware, which is why we buy blackberries in the first place....the security.

They would care, unless you have multiple licenses. I know that office professional can be installed on 4 different computers using one disc license key. Maybe blackberry has a similar license situation when it comes to apps, or I should say the third party developer may have a multiple license agreement when you download the application. Regardless, piracy of apps only hurts the platform so im in agreement with you, if you dont own the app or you have one license....dont install it on multiple devices.

the Android run time running in its own sandbox. like a separated partition from the OS. even if the app contain malware it still can't be injected into the OS itself

I find DDPB is simpler to use than this. Still, more options is sweet
