In the spirit of doing a little competition, I thought we should try and see who is the best/quickest typer on here.

Here are the rules:

1. Use the same app: Flying Thumbs (free in Blackberry World)
2. Type at least 100 letters
3. Post your screenshot of your score
4. State how experienced you are with your phone & the model.
5. NO flicking allowed ! (please don't cheat)

See my own score: 45.9
On a Z30, with over 9 months of experience with touchscreen!

Good point, the app allows flicking, but the game shouldn't. I will add that to the rules...

No flick typing here, I find it to be slower anyway. Updated to get rid of the errors. And I let the score settle before posting.

I fixed the typos.

Been using a Z10 for a year now (well 51 weeks). Had one pre release. That was my first touch screen device that I spent any time with. I was much faster typing on the keyboard devices, Bold 99xx I was up near 90-95wpm.

Hmm, it's a bit difficult without some type of standard paragraph to type. But here are my results.

I've been using a touch screen since the Storm 1 days. Don't know how long that's been. But I'm pretty good at it I suppose.

We should set a time limit and standard paragraph to copy. Again difficult, but it would give a more accurate account of whose truly faster.

If people want to report with flicking, and without flicking, that is fine as well, as long as they make it clear of what they did.

Okay, if we are all typing the same paragraph and flicking, the Z10 memorized it. So flicking doesn't reveal any special prowess. I basically flicked every word. But even doing that I didn't top most of you guys. Pitiful I know.

I really dont think flicking is any faster, more convenient yes, but doubt it is any faster. Go ahead and type any paragraph you want and lets see how it does flicking.

For what it's worth, here is what my nephew was able to do on his Z10. Yes it's in French but nevertheless!

Another good measurement is to check how many characters were typed in total. I noticed some really high WPM scores with only 1/3 the amount of letters than what I used.

I would love to see how this compares on other keyboard platforms. Ofcourse on Android people would have to describe the type of keyboard they're using. I here there's tonnes of variants.
