I want to delete the UNWANTED Language files from my Z10.

Using the PlayBook App Manager, I can see that there are 2 types of language files, a- The system language files and b- the Voice control language files. For both, the "en", "US" and "GB" appendices can be deduced to denote English for both UK and US.

Are this the only 2 files needed? Can I go ahead and delete ALL the other language files and have the phone still very much functional? I would appreciate contributions.

Personally I would get a bigger memory card before I go tinkering with that data.
For the few KB you'll gain it's not work it.

Well, it's not a gain in storage space but a gain in RAM available. I deleted the obvious ones like French, Spanish & Korean and I did gain RAM with improved stability.

I already have a 64GB card, just looking to free up more RAM for the OS.

You only need one of those English files. I've deleted all of them except en.gb and everything still works fine.

These files are not stored on the memory card... and the gain is many MB's!

It's a gain in Free Storage, not RAM.

Thanks for this reply. Much appreciated.

For the voice recognition/control, what did you delete and which did you leave behind?

    No probs.

For voice control I deleted everything except the .eng file.

I see, I remember deleting those same files on all BlackBerry's that I've owned and never saw a significant increase in that made it worthwhile.

I deleted everything in those two categories except the .root and .en files. No problems at all afterwards. Every bit of free space I can add can only help an already smooth system.
