Sometimes I need to plug my Q10 into some other person's computer for charging and I don't want it to be connected in any way. Can I turn the USB sync off?

If your device is secured via password, and you encrypt the disk, you should have zero to worry about. Conversely you can just plug it into a wall adapter (same cable, plus a small block).

No... only way would be to use a charge-only USB cable, which don't have any data wires connected.

Wouldn't typing 'storage' on your phone then turning off USB Mass Storage not allow it to connect.
And BlackBerry Link shouldn't pop up if your friend doesn't have it.
This is theory only I haven't tested this.

This was a legacy feature I'd like to see on BlackBerry 10. For now, as far as I can see, the only way to tackle this is by using a password. The computer won't be able to access your phone.

Thanks everyone, I started using a USB charging-only cable and everything is solved!
