I would like to add Text only contacts in BBM like we used to do in the old BBOS 7.1 operating system. I have been looking everywhere in my Z10 but unable to find how to do this.

Object is to be able to add these contacts to a BBM group - so the group can have both BBM and Text Only BBM contacts.

It's not possible on BB10. The Hub serves the same purpose as it already keeps your IM needs available from one place.

Regardless, you could never add a Text-only contact to a BBM Group, on any OS.

Now that BBM is cross-platform, get them to download it!

iPhone people I have been able to convince to download and use - and BBM seems to work fine on iPhones.

However, I have had a difficult time in convincing android users. Apparently, BBM is still not running that well on the Android platform yet. My brother installed it but does not use as it was consuming the battery a lot.
