I noticed a lot of garbage images appearing in my photo album. For instance, there was a album that had a lot of exercise instructional images in the which always showed up in the pictures app when I just wanted to view my camera images.

So I dropped an empty file called, .nomedia into the /accounts/1000/shared/misc folder and I no longer have that garbage. You could also drop one of those .nomedia files into the what's app folder to stop other people's spam from appearing when you're just trying to show someone a picture of your kids.

To be honest I don't know why it doesn't come with a .nomedia file there by default.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere it has to be done on a PC. I just wish I could remember how to create it. I can't remember if it's an empty file with nomedia as the extension or if there's some coding involved. It also sucks that it kills custom ring tones and such. People were using this to avoid having ring tones play mixed in with their music files.

I used ghost commander. Nav to folder then use the ... button. select new file.

Or you could use a pc.

Or if you have the bgshell app you could touch the file there. But if you're that guy you probably don't need this thread.
