I've had my baby for a few months...bought it unlocked, and I experienced difficulty with the first software upgrade (to Release 10.1.0.4181). I overcame that by switching off my location settings. I only recently discovered that BlackBerry OS 10.2 was out, and I have tried using OTA and Blackberry Link to update my phone, but on both my Mac and my z10, I'm told I have the latest available device software. Additionally, my phone lists my software version as 10.1.0.4181, while Blackberry Link says it is 10.1.0.4633. Any help will be more than welcome!

    What sim have you got?
Try putting in a pay as you go sim from a big carrier that has pushed 10.2.0 or 10.2.1 only cost you a few cents dont need credit? Try update over wifi or link.

Once updated put you original sim back in.

You may also try taking your sim out and then try link again with no sim in phone.

If all above fails try to reinstall os from BlackBerry website which may put 4181 or even earlier back on but will then install updates on top.

From what carrier is your sim card? Maybe your carrier hasn't pushed any update above your OS version, which is highly likely when you are using a us carrier.

If that is the case, maybe you want to wait for the next days because the update to 10.2.1. is rolling out on Tuesday and word is in the street that us carriers are on board this time (we know verizon is).

Thanks for all your responses. I'm in Trinidad and Tobago...I haven't contacted my carrier here, simply because I bought the phone unlocked. I forgot to add that I have tried some of the suggestions here, including Link with/without the SIM card , with Location Services On/Off over wifi (which is how I got my first and only update...even before I had installed the SIM card)... I'll let you know what happens as soon as I get around to it. Thanks again!

To upgrade, you are going to have to load a leak or use Sachesi to download an official from another carrier.

I would encourage you to download the Leak 10.2.1.1925 to your computer and unzip it. You can get it from the bb10 leak forum. Then plug in your phone via USB and double click the unzipped OS file. It will autoload to your phone. Make sure you backup via link before you load the Leak. Reset your phone after it reboots and away you go.

Now this leak is supposed to be released soon by BlackBerry. Some are saying it will be available straight from BlackBerry, but that is just rumor. You can wait to see if it is true or load the Leak. Either way, once you get 10.2.1.1925, you will rejoice in its goodness.

Thanks again....I finally did resolve it using Sachesi. But I had to use an update from a carrier in Spain...that was on Monday (3 days ago). On Tuesday, I was automatically notified of an update...so I'm now running OS Release 10.2.1.537
