Out of nowhere my music app basically crashed and couldn't play anything anymore, I transferred all my music data to my pc (including playlist M3Us) and sort of re-introduced my music to the app. Now the player seems to work okay, but 23 of my playlists have been duplicated with the titles all stuck on "Unknown" which are unchangeable, and when inside the playlist, no name appears at all. I cannot save any changes and cannot delete them. I've rebooted multiple times with no effect.

My question is is there a way to force the music player app to reboot? Because even with all playlist data removed from phone and media card, these still linger, so I think that means the app itself has created these. Any suggestions?

I find that the playlists are created in the device memory. Have you tried opening file manager and deleting the playlists from there?
I am subscribing here so we can figure this out.

Yes I have, I removed all playlist data from the device and media card, no dice.

I remember a similar problem back when I first got my Z10 a few months ago, a few playlists of mine would duplicate some of the songs inside them, with those duplicates being unplayable and unable to be deleted. For the life of me I can't answer how that one got resolved, it seemed to just happen on it's own as I added newer songs over time.

BTW thank you so much for the help, I'm proud to have BB as my first smartphone.

I'm at work late tonight, I think I'll see what I can tinker with in the chrome app manager extension later.

OK but i don't think you will be able to delete that app. Maybe if you load the music app bar file OVER what you have?

by any chance do you sync your playlists from BB Link?
Maybe Link is re-introducing the problem on your phone?

    Things you could do:

    1. Erase music app then re-install. (if still not working go to number 2)
    2. Format media card then re-populate with songs. (and if still not working at this point go to number 3)
    3. Security wipe.

Native music app of BB10 isn't that perfect yet. No matter how I edit all the tags correctly it still throw other tracks to some unknown category and some albums are incomplete and "separated" from the main album (I hope you understand what I mean).

I also noticed that in other music apps (like the neutron) it gets all the albums and playlists correctly while the native music app does not. The problem is the native app. I know some will say "I don't have that kind of problem" but really, both my Q10 and Z30 have the same issues when it comes to the native music app. It's a hit and miss thing and that's why it's not "yet" perfect. I hope BlackBerry can/would resolve this issue. Or even ask neutron how they made it work.

My apologies for a lengthy reply. Hope this helps. Cheers!

The only problem there is that you CAN'T erase the music app. He's going to try with chrome extension but i don't think you can. So adding another bar file on top of it is probably the only way to clear up a corruption.

Of course, you could always pay for Neutron and use it instead. I like Neutron myself.

Yes adding music bar on top will somehow like "refresh" that app. I agree.

And that did it. Even though I reformatted the card already a few times, and tried re-installing the music bar -both with no results- somehow a lucky combo of the two was enough to fix it.

Thanks for your help, stay classy BB community.
