Help me understand "mobile computing platform"
I'm a current BB 9850 owner and very excited about the BB10 release (hopefully, now in Q1 2013). I've been reading up on BB10 and have been hearing Thor calling BB10 a mobile computing platform on numerous occassion. He referred to it as that BBW '12 Keynote and I also just read it on his Q&A answer to the 10 questions (can be found here - http://crackberry.com/rim-ceo-thorst...estions-public). What I haven't seen is anything more in depth on what this platform tranformation means for BB10 and how they will transform things. Have there been any examples of some of the capabilities or how they plan on tying in everything? I saw the Porsche and Jeep QNX demos, but they just seem to be concepts moreso than actually making it a reality. Sorry if this post is a little confusing as to what I'm asking but what it comes down to is how they are going to integrate this "platform", as Thor calls it, into all mobile devices? Has that been discussed at any point?

The best thing i would say is to look into QNX since that is the base for BB10.
QNX is run on so many things example Nuclear power plants, space station, routers.
It show that it is capable of running as big system or a small.
In the BlackBerry Porsche it had the one Playbook control all systems in the car including the two playbooks attached to the back of the seats (does anyone actually sit in the back seat of a Porsche). - 07-09-2012, 12:28 PM

I've looked into QNX and understand all the environments it's implemented, but I'm trying to understand what the average person will find usefull in the platform. I want to know what having this platform going to mean for the end user? How is it going to increase productivity and make it fun?

Think about it like this, the International Space Station uses QNX software. Now if you ever find yourself climbing aboard you will be able to wirelessly sync your music and play it on the Kick Space Station stereo system.
BOOM, I just blew your mind!
