Just updated to the latest official Rogers 10.1.0.4181, but all of my text messages GONE! Anyone else experiencing this?

Also having the same problem on 4181 on EE UK, although my update actually failed altogether and I thought at one point I had a bricked phone. Managed to finally get the phone to boot and attempting the update for a second time now, although I doubt it'll restore the texts even if successful

The update kinda.. wipes them. They should come back when the person texts you again.

I'm with Bell too. Just reset my Hub for the fourth time and for some reason all is well now. Texting history is back and I can text again. That's a relief. I hope everyone else's issues sort themselves out.

Yup mine gone too. Can't restore from BB Protect. Can't restore when composing a text, or receiving a text....ANGRY TOO.

I had some important details from a person who texted me. Can't recover that..

Seems to me it's just the .4181 version which is causing the problems

Same here. In telus. Just updated to new os10.1 MR. I had two new texts I didn't read and I don't even know who sent one if them cuz I restarted to finalize the software

Um as someone said did you backup before the upgrade?


Also there is an app called SMS backup that's like $0.99 in BlackBerry world, maybe if you have important stuff you should back it up, I have the app and it works well

The last official OTA update did not encounter this problem. Even if people didn't back up their device the texts shouldn't disappear. You may not have access to Link at the time. I'll give it a few hours and hopefully they come back.

My texts didn't disappear, but I lost the ability to compose texts. I used the search function to text myself, and everything came back upon receiving my own text. Perhaps try that and it may help your issue too. Worth a shot anyhow. I'm an SQN100-1 Q10 on Telus with release 10.1.0.4181

I didn't lose my texts exactly, but I can't text and I can't even delete a text to see if that would help. I can open a text and it shows the contact at the top, and the keyboard, but can't see what I type, unless I hide the keyboard, no messages, and I can't send. No matter which text message I open, it's always the same person showing (as in wrong contact). I've tried restarts, hard reboot, and hub resets. No luck yet. I also tried to send myself a message using the search feature, but it still pulls up that one text message from that same person. Weird.

T-Mobile UK. Updated OTA several hours ago. Text messages gone and do not return when a new text to a contact is created and sent.

Sounds to me that people need patience, an OS update takes time to bed in, seems people here are saying that the texts are coming back after a while.
