    As I understand the concept of Headless Apps, they are always active and run in the background.

    So how does one tell which headless apps are running?

    By having them running, is there more battery use?

    Read the app descriptions, app developers often are proud to mention it because not many apps have it yet. And yes, there is the chance it will impact battery life though it shouldn't beat on it too hard. The apps have to to be approved and are tested to NOT be insanely strenuous on battery life. Also, you can find a nice list below.
